Facility and Programming Director - West Maui YMCA Resource Center

SCHEDULE:Varies
LOCATION:226 Kupuohi St, Lahaina, HI 96761
SALARY RANGE:$45,000 – $50,000 per year
STATUS:Full Time/Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides a quality experience to program participants and members focused on YMCA core values:  Honesty, respect, responsibility, and caring.  The facility manager oversees all aspects of building functions and guarantees the safety and functionality of all facilities.  This position is responsible for growth, expansion, supervision, operations and schedule coordination for the West Side YMCA Resource Center.  Responsible for planning, developing, organizing and evaluating all programs and classes to ensure that the needs of the YMCA, members, and tenants are met.  Meets the needs of members and community through new program development and program retention.  This is a grant funded position.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Duties as the Facility Manager

A facility manager is responsible for the safety upkeep and functionality of the Maui Familly YMCA’s building, grounds and equipment.

Maintenance

Oversees and maintains custodial functions and ensures that the facility is clean and maintained according to company policy and procedures.

Safety

Ensures that buildings, grounds and infrastructure are safe, and that emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.

Budgeting

Manages budget and prepares and implements project budgets and time frame.

Contracts

Oversees and agrees contrasts and providers for service and with all third-party leases.

Other duties and responsibilities include but limited to:

  1. Conducting and documenting regular facility inspections
  2. Managing insurance and contracts
  3. Oversees third-party contracts and facilities and staff
  4. Schedule repairs and maintenance as needed
  5. Manage refurbishments, renovations and office moves
  6. Ensure health and safety standards are met at all times
  7. Keep records of payments
  8. Manage office systems and equipment.

Some skills and qualifications preferred:

  1. Able to multitask, prioritize and manage

  3. Strong written and verbal communication skills
  4. Previous experience in a related field
  5. Management experience
  6. Ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 30 pounds
  7. Team player

Duties as the Program Coordinator

This position is responsible for growth, expansion, supervision, operating and schedule coordination for the hub.  Responsible for planning, developing, organizing, and evaluating all programs and classes to ensure that the needs of the YMCA and members are met.  Meets the needs of members and the community through new program development and retention.

  1. Develop, plan, and execute a variety of programs, activities, and resources
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive culture that promotes teamwork, respect, and personal growth
  3. Encourage community participation and engagement by building positive relationships with families, fellow outreach organizations, and the local community
  4. Responsible to ensure that all outreach programs within the hub align with our mission
  5. Responsible for completing annual reviews for all staff in a timely manner
  6. Maintain budgets, expenses, and resources efficiently, making recommendations as needed
  7. Schedule and attend all staff meetings and trainings
  8. Informs staff and members of upcoming events
  9. Assist in association fundraising and campaign events

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
  • YMCA Organizational Leader certification preferred.
  • Two or more years of professional experience with a background in supervision/management in the YMCA or another non-profit preferred.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED Certifications
  • Experience with working on the West Side preferred
